Doofin around…

Makai is a giant-headed doofus. Absolutely the mellowest puppy either of us have ever seen, he’s still an excitable mess whenever he comes out of the crate. But after running the crazies out, he’s chill and settled, learning commands and just hanging out with the older dogs.

Typical block-headed lab. Note: same dog as the featured image, just with a 14mm vs 200mm lens…

I still need to get around to posting about the bison skull, but there’s a series of events which have occurred / are pending which are pretty much monopolizing my time. Posting has been light, and I’d like to get around to it more, but a combination of OPSEC and connectivity issues in the near future may limit that somewhat. I’ll still try and do updates on the pictures side of the blog, behind the password curtain. I’ll probably also do a post on some travel security things since that would be apropos to why posting is light. Cryptic, I realize, but for now, it’s important.

Speaking of travels, I did have to run ‘home’ to Mom & Dad’s for my grandmother’s funeral during the middle of last month. 98 years old is nothing to sneeze at, and she kept after making and hanging curtains and draperies well into her 90’s, so her rest is well earned. I brought a couple of rifle cases home which had been hanging out above dad’s workshop for the last couple of years, one of which I filled with an assortment of granddaddy’s tools from the shop. Amongst the stuff just hanging out in the shop I found his M-65 field jacket. It’s a medium regular, vs. the medium long top size I normally wear, but since I’m just above the height threshold for the switch between sizes, this one isn’t too small.
