So this is my first attempt at blogging from the WordPress app on my new iPhone. Might try dictating another post later, as the speech recognition on this phone is better than my Evo Shift was. The google speak piece on the old phone was pretty good, but the iPhone does better with converting speech to text overall. We shall see…
Edit (from my computer): It seems that the wordpress app for iPhone is severely limited in the pictures department. Which is a shame, because the iPhone camera is a really good one, as far as small-sensor phone cameras go. I edited the post because I really didn’t like they way that the ‘use as featured image’ piece worked when I updated that piece from Safari after uploading the original post from the WordPress app. I’d imagine that editing in the WordPress dashboard through Safari would work out okay on an iPad, but the iPhone is kinda small to get all the text in. You can’t re-size images or insert them as a thumbnail with a link to a larger image through the WordPress app, which is a severe limitation for the way I’d use the app. I took the above image and it uploaded to the blog fine, but to get it to do the thumbnail thing, I had to load the dashboard, and since I’m at home I didn’t feel like wasting the time to do it on the phone. Thus far, I’d give the WordPress for iOS app 1 1/2 stars. Guess I’ll go back through the App Store and see if I can find a better solution…
