It’s been a good while since I have written here.\u00a0 A LOT of stuff has been going on.\u00a0 Suffice it to say I have been reasonably good at keeping the family up to speed on everything by posting pictures over on facebook.\u00a0 But the maelstrom that is a <6-month-old has been wrecking our sleep patterns, work patterns, his sister’s nap patterns, mama’s nap patterns… pretty much everything.<\/p>\n

But he’s been sorted on sleeping through the night for a couple of months, and I’ve just been lazy about getting my systems back in place to get stuff done.\u00a0 Consistently.\u00a0 I did start writing in a ‘5 minute journal’ in the morning and evening for a bit over a month now, and it’s finally become a habit.\u00a0 Which is good, because starting the day with gratitude has helped keep my spirits up as we’ve bumped through infancy.<\/p>\n

Also, since the last time I posted, I got onboard at my Training with Industry fellowship at IBM:

Which brings us to why I’m posting this here now:\u00a0 I need more practice writing.\u00a0 This is a free-form outlet where I can figuratively spill my brain on the page and not worry so much about format, etc, etc.\u00a0 And it’s not tied to whatever topic is lined up for my ILE coursework, so I don’t hate doing it.\u00a0 I started the 5 Minute Journal in response to prompting from Tim Ferriss’ podcast, and am doing this as an extension of that habit.\u00a0 Two crappy pages a day.\u00a0 Of course the assignments need to come first, but on days I’m not bashing my head against the wall in response to ‘Army Education’, I plan to try and catch up on what’s going with, well, everything.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
